Claire
Student Veterinary Nurse
I've always been pretty obsessed with animals and I love our furry friends of all shapes and sizes. I started out my fascination with improving animal health with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Sciences from the Royal Veterinary College, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Livestock Health and Production, alongside working as a laboratory researcher. I then went on to work as a Research Fellow, completing a PhD part-time, focussing on control strategies for mosquito-borne diseases affecting both animal and human health. My own personal struggles with ill-health during this time reminded me of the power and importance of our relationships with animals and what a huge contribution our pets and other animals can make to our well-being. Therefore, I decided to focus on trying to make a practical and hands-on difference to improve animal health and well-being and I found a home with the lovely team at Vet4Life in Sept 2022 to train to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
At home, my furry family consists of two cheeky guinea pigs and a very mischievous and inquisitive bunny rabbit. In my spare time I love watching their antics, spending time with my friends, painting, making stained glass, singing and dancing."
